Friday we had our first shoot with the lovely Rachel and her father Michel. The cholent they made smelled AMAZING! We learned so much about this treasured recipe.
We had our first shoot at Nourse Farm in Westborough, MA today with the delightful Marsha Nourse! She made her Aunt Francis’ sweet and sour meatballs – delish! Can’t wait to go back when the farm is in full bloom!
Welcome to the blog for The American Recipe Project, a serial documentary project which delves deep into family histories and American culture through family recipes. This project began in 2010 with Madeline Herec, a graduate student at Emerson College, and freelance sound designer and editor. Currently, the project involves over 30 people, and the quest to reveal American family history and culture through recipes passed down over generations is gaining momentum.
